[Bug 220952] [NEW] Out of Range for 800x600 full screen games

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Two games;

 Wolfstein: Enemy Territory and Extreme Tux Racer. Both like to do
default resolution of 800x600. When these games start up, my monitor
produces an Out of Range error. In Ubuntu 7.10, this error didn't
appear.

If Desktop resolution is set to 800x600, no monitor error is reported. 
If any other desktop resolution is used, no monitor error is reported.

Open Arena, Alien Arena (though broken) appear to function.


Hardware & Software

Ubuntu 8.04
nvidia-glx-new
Nvidia Fx 5200
1440x900 native monitor resolution. 

Update:

 Thanks to amyrose on irc. I narrowed the problem down to this; Monitor
does not support 800x600 @63 or @64.
