Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image

The sd card reader seemingly functions ok, that is, until you actually
open the files. I have attached some scaled down jpegs that show serious
signs of corruption. Several blocks of the image is rearranged/missing.
Reading the same card in Windows Vista shows no such errors, and as
such, I cannot use the card reader under Linux (because of data loss).

I never see any errors in dmesg concerning this.

lshw shows this.

description: SD Host controller
product: ENE PCI SmartMedia / xD Card Reader Controller
configuration: driver=sdhci latency=32 maxlatency=72 mingnt=32 module=sdhci

** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
