I've tried the Intrepid's 2.6.27 kernel on Hardy and it doesn't get the microcode error anymore.
BUT (yep, there's a but) now it fails to associate with my router.

So... a little bit closer but still not working :/

I'm attaching the dmesg output I've got trying the new kernel. Hope it helps.
If I can help trying other things or providing more info, let me know.
