BUG SOLVED

Very good news! 
This bug is completely solved with an Linux 2.6.27-1-generic #1 SMP Sat Aug 23 23:20:09 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux kernel!

Even when a very low refresh is chosen (=0,25s = ultra low!), then the graphic keeps still up with the right speed! 
The kernel I used for this test is the linux-image-2.6.27-1-generic_2.6.27-1.2_i386.deb package downloaded from http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux/linux-image-2.6.27-1-generic_2.6.27-1.2_i386.deb. I installed this package without any problems on a Ubuntu 8.04 system with an  2.6.24-21-generic #1 kernel.
