[Bug 194279] [NEW] Dell Inspiron 8600 crashes during login when it's on battery power

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.15

When I power up the laptop without power line but on battery power, it
hangs up almost every time. Also, when I close the lid it still hangs
up. When I press Stand By or Hibernate it hangs up. So, I have to power
it on power line and then when I finish what I have to do, I have to
shut it down completely with Shut Down option.

I am running Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy and it is up to date with all the updates
until February 1, 2008.

I am a newbie so I didn't try yet to change any setting with the power
options or whatever.
