I did some testing with an other system (laptop). I loaded Ubuntu from
cd and could connect WPA automatic. (other wifi driver in laptop). Don't
know if this helps but its some extra info.

I wanted to test the idea's from Andreas but the system automatic
connects to my other wifi router (non secure) and I have not found jet
how to disconnect. If i now go to the wifi settings the window is
totally greyed out.
