You start out by saying that b43 does work, and end by saying that it needs to be fixed?
Thanks for the info, though.  I guess it will be nice if the switch actually works, because my Dell computer does have a switch for the wi-fi.
I have b43 and ssb blacklisted, so the dmesg command gives me nothing.  Maybe it's because I don't have a fresh boot?
I'm using Ndiswrapper right now and it's working great.  I'd rather have b43 working, of course.  I do have some computers (not Dell, no switches) that will only work with bcm43xx, as Ndiswrapper seemed to freeze them up.
