Beware: I just "dist-upgraded" from gutsy to hardy and the listed
workarounds are no longer solving this issue for me. I have to set "sudo
hdparm -B 255 /dev/sda" manually each time I resume the computer,
otherwise I am getting 5-10 "clicks" per minute.
