Rt2500usb will not connect to network, Gutsy (and Hardy)
In Synaptic shown installed are;- rt2500 and rt2500-source (they do not mention usb?)
hardware info = info.linux.driver rt2500usb
:~$ uname -a
Linux athlon 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Tue Feb 12 07:42:25 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux
The device starts up, and in 'Roaming'it collects all the wireless
networks, chooses mine, the eventually asks for encryption, WEP-Ascii is
entered, but it does not connect to network. The USB adapter flashes a
short time, but no connection is made. After a while the encryption
code is requested again with the same result. The device does work on
the other OS-xp drivers, it is obviously partially working here but does
not connect.
If I try manual config, set the network, encryption and DHCP I get the
same result.
Are there any alternatives I could try? have I got the correct drivers installed in Synaptec?
Any help would be appreciated.
My attempts so far;
sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
~$ lsusb
lswlan Bus 004 Device 003: ID 050d:7050 Belkin Components F5D7050 ver
1000 WiFi
