I still can not understand why not to apply Bart Samwel's
(https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/acpi-
support/+bug/59695/comments/229) solution. Debian did.

It is simple, and more important: it works.  Even when the reasons and
requirements for this bug are not fully understood, could somebody point
out it's drawbacks?

If Hardy ships in the current state, we will see an LTS distro that is
killing the hard drives of it's users.
