Public bug reported:

crash during update mgr -- execute when see update notify icon 20081015-1000 (approx time)
expected usual update success, instead got crash, triggering bug report
In my confusion while trying to screen capture log of update transactions, I noted there were several crash icons that occurred--not sure which one I managed to get to you
