[Bug 246067] Re: Kernel panic during boot in VirtualBox with kernel 2.6.26.*-generic

I'm sorry to report that although my workaround was able to get the
system to be updated to the latest packages and kernel, even with the
kernel 2.6.27-2 the system miserably fails to load al together. The
kernel generates a trace a7919e7f17c0a725 message.
