Not entirely sure whether my problem is related, but my machine also hangs intermittently at boot. I'm running intrepid, 2.6.27-3-generic, and *sometimes* during boot Ubuntu hangs at "Loading powernowd...". So far I've not identified a trigger.
Attachment is from earlier today. I tried it without ath5k that time after a hunch, but apparently that doesn't matter.
