lsusb detects as :
Bus 005 Device 005: ID 12d1:1412 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. 
Any other information ill happily provide.

This will be a problem with all reliance network connection here in india. 
A friend of mine also reports the same.

Kernel:linux-headers-2.6.31-02063101
