Ubuntu : 9.10 / Karmic
Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR928X Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01)
Network-Manager : 0.8~a~git.20091013t193206.679d548-0ubuntu1

problem still there, remove 'network-manager' and installing 'wicd'
instead ; works well now
