UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux, my ralink 2500 card works fine. With anything
newer than that it is slow and eventually stops working. One change I
see (don't know if it is relevant) is that the name of the device, as
reported by iwconfig, changed. When using 2.6.24-19, it is called ra0,
with newer kernels, it is called wlan0.
