Another affected system:
- Ubuntu 8.10 with current patches
- ATI "740G" motherboard (SB700 chipset, I've attached my lspci printout)

Disabling 'ehci' seems to workaround the problem, and it also seems to
work properly using the Ubuntu 8.04.1 LiveCD, at least for a quick test.
