Public bug reported:
I installed Alpha 3 of Karmic and noticed that I can no longer boot
while my / partition is of type JFS. I get an error about VFS being
unable to sync due to an unknown block type and the computer simply sits
there flashing lights and looking pathetic.
This appears to be caused by the fact that JFS has been moved from being
part of the kernel to being a module, and due to the fact that the
module cannot be loaded until /lib is mounted which cannot be achieved
until / is mounted as taavikko pointed out here
(http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=7675135&postcount=4), this
essentially renders booting from JFS impossible.
