The problem is get back in current Karmic  builds. I've upgraded to
Karmic near two weeks ago and in 2.6.30-5 kernel I've got *** EEPROM MAC
address is invalid 3c59x: vortex_probe1 fails. Returns -22. 8.10/9.04
works just fine for mine IBM T21
