Ok it looks very much like RedHat applied the commit below and the issue
was resolved:

    cdc-wdm needs to ignore extremely malformed descriptors.

This commit is already applied to the Jaunty kernel in 2.6.28-13.44,
which should be in -updates now.  Could you confirm whether this issue
is still present there.
