[Bug 393513] [NEW] latitude d630 amd64 8.04 screen blinks computer crashes acpi?

Dear All:

I have made a forum post here:

The only relevant thing in syslog is:
Jun 28 22:08:27 misha-d630 kernel: [  514.941528] gnome-power-man[7400]: segfault at 0 rip 41141a rsp 7fffbd1f0260 error 4

I am trying to run with acpi=off now and so far seems good but will see. I initially thought was nvidia proprietary bug because of these messages:
Jun 28 21:29:48 misha-d630 kernel: [  265.538924] NVRM: Xid (0001:00): 6, PE0001 

But it turns out crashes still occur without nvidia driver uninstalled.
They seem pretty consistent when I browse www.bikeforums.org with
Firefox.

Any help much appreciated or if I can do something to debug further.

p.s. Previously I also had some crashes that had cifs segfaults in
syslog, but am not sure if these are related and I have not seen these
messages in a while. Thank you again.
