I have Huawei E150E
lsusb shows
Bus 002 Device 005: ID 12d1:1003 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. E220 HSDPA Modem / E270 HSDPA/HSUPA Modem

I installed this
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.31.5/

But I am not sure what the rest meant by worked. For my case, with the
above kernel, the stick consistently became a usb-storage (while
previously its always a half baked stage).

I tried rmmod usb-storage and modprobe usbserial, but still
NetworkManager couldn't see anything.
