Even then DVD movies (purchased) are not recognised - error message that media is unknown. Audio cd's sometimes play. I have the same problem on 5810T. I've discoverd that I also have
troubles withs some cd's under windows (the ubuntu 9.04 live cd) : it
was impossible to access the cd, to eject it, the reader made bad nose,
and windows freezed. I had to make a hard reset to stop the computer.
