This bug exists in kernel.
After upgrade from Ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10 my modem Hauwei stops working on the newest kernel (2.6.31-15).

After run Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala with old kernel 2.6.28-13 all works
perfectly.
