I also (with the Huawei E160G) had quite no problems on Jaunty but after
upgrading to Karmic problems began (I have to plug the modem in before
starting the machine). Isn't it possible to re-introduce the code from
the older kernel related to that to the newest kernel? - Or: I wonder
what has been changed that breaks down so many modems.
