Has anyone, apart from Ben H, liro R-J (who has a e220) and me, tried
the kernel at http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.31.5/?
Apart from the first time you insert the e169, both modem and usb
storage seem to work flawlessly. (I'm using it now.)

I also have the current ubuntu kernel -- 2.6.31-14.48 -- installed and
the meta packages so that I know when there is a new kernel in the
repos,
