[Bug 392039] Re: initramfs scripts hard-coded to load i915; blocks loading non-intel drm modules

My understanding is that this only affects systems that have /usr/share
/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-top/framebuffer in the initramfs, which as
of alpha 6 only happens to systems that have cryptsetup installed.
Should this bug really be regarded as a critical beta blocker in that
case?  Or have I missed other reasons why this bug would be affecting
people?
