So, I still have this problem in Ubuntu 9.10 with kernel 2.6.31, as well
as in ubuntu 8.04, 8.10, 9.04... Please just find a way how to fix it.

here created this bug post about this problem. I just want to say that
LG laptops especially LG R700 quite popular in Ukraine, Russia and even
in the Canada. So it would be fantastic if developers will found
problem. In Windows sleep mode works correctly. From my part I.m ready
to help with testing .. even if some hardware work will be needed - I
have required qualification.
