[Bug 354445] [NEW] audio not working post upgrade from hardy to intrepid

Hi,
I upgraded my machine from hardy to intrepid and audio stopped working. I have tried many ways of fixing this. As it stands now, I do see the applications registering on pulseaudio but I hear no sound.
