Hi Jeremy,
Since upgrading to 9.10 and letting all the updates install the freezes
have been few. There was one yesterday though.
I've read that 10.04 is in Beta and an expert electronics and software
engineer friend of mine has been trying it out as a guest system running
under a virtualiser.
I rely on 9.10 for just about everything I do which is on my (this) laptop. So I'm a bit reluctant to upgrade to a Beta 10.04 because not only is my essential private/personal data in /home/mike (which I can copy to an external HDD) but I have my scanner and printer software installed wherever 9.10 has put it and have had to make some changes to get wifi and Skype working.
So I'd really need to be able to return to using 9.10 if 10.04 Beta gives me problems.
I do have a bootable Acronis True Image CD that I use to backup my system HDD or partition images and do of course have a way to restore 9.10.
So I'll try out 10.04 starting this weekend.
Regards
Mike
