I have the same issue with ubuntu lucid beta and hardy after recent
updates. Usually system fails on using Virtualbox, qemu or anything
resource heavy. Attached log from up-to-date lucid.

Linux top 2.6.32-17-generic #26-Ubuntu SMP Sat Mar 20 02:23:45 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
AMD Athlon 5600+, ATI Radeon 3650 HD.
