[Bug 555169] [NEW] Can't log in after regular update on Lucid

Hi:
I performed regular updates for Lucid on my system, but after rebooting can't log in. The mouse and keyboard freeze and it simply does nothing.

Is there a way to revert any changes and/or boot in "safe mode" in order
to correct this problem. I have been unable to access my information
stored in that system.
