[Bug 542992] [NEW] Booting with the '--verbose' parameter results in a black screen

Booting with the '--verbose' parameter added to the kernel line of
GRUB's boot stanza results in a black screen (backlight turned off).
Remote login revealed that nouveaufb didn't get loaded:

[22:10] ~ $ cat /proc/fb
0 VGA16 VGA

Attaching syslog and Xorg.0.log from the failed boot.

I'm not sure if the problem is upstart, plymouth, nouveau, or something
else so don't be mad if I got it wrong. ;-)
