Public bug reported:
I've built an IR receiver, emulating the LIRC-compatible Igor Cesko USB-receiver. After plugging it in, I can watch the incoming IR-commands in /dev/lirc0. But when I unplug it, I get this message about a "serious problem in the kernel, Your system might become unstable now and might need to be restarted", I don't know the exact message in English since my system uses Swedish. New USB-devices are not enumerated and does not appear in /dev until I reboot.
I wasn't able to report this after the kernel "crash" because Apport wouldn't run so I am sending this after a reboot using ubuntu-bug. dmesg seems to contain a lot of errors, I'll attach a log below. This occurs both with and without the "lirc" package installed. I can reproduce this anytime by just replugging the USB device. No idea if this is a regression, but if it helps, I can test it with any kernel after 2.6.32-11 (currently running Lucid beta, kernel 2.6.32-19)
