I am using a fresh installing Ubuntu 9.10 from the Desktop CD, with updates to April 5 2010
the wireless connection with a netgear MA111 USB wireless dongle plugged into a USB port  does not work.

I got

So it sees the device.

lists the MA111v1 and says it should work.  With the USB dongle plugged in I am not connected.  When I plug in an Ethernet cable, I am connected. Prior to Ubuntu 9.10, the USB netgear MA111 worked with windows. 

As a neophyte to Ubuntu, I am clueless.  Any ideas how to get my wireless to run?
