from munin graphs when munin stopped updating.  My interpretations are
inexpert, but, hey!  Pretty graphs.:

on sda
Disk latency spiked to 180 seconds
Disk utilization spiked to 100%

munin processing time spiked to 40 seconds

CPU shows increased iowait

interupt 16 looks very high 338/second

Load average jumped to 7
