[Bug 560171] [NEW] suspend does not switch off computer (lucid beta)

Public bug reported:

when i want to suspend then the operations seem to work, but at the end
(the screen is black) the computer does not switch off. there is no way
to resume, other than forcing to switch off (long press on powerbutton).
what can i do to help fix this problem?
