[Bug 561317] [NEW] fsck on RAID5 causes kernel hang in Lucid AMD64

Public bug reported:
After installation, the first boot did an fsck on root filesystem (PLAIN
LINUX EXT4 PARTITION) and then went on to a RAID 5 array but whole
system hung and nothing responded to keyboard - eg ctrl-alt-f1 or
pressing c to end fsck. It got to 90% then hung for 30 minutes so I
rebooted and checked ext3 filesystems were actually all fine using an
older kernel option in grub. Rebooting without fsck was fine in Lucid
beta
I had downloaded Lucid Beta 2 daily release 11/04/2009 alternative AMD64
iso and manual installation on a fresh root partition went fine except
for one message when I was in the partitioning disk section. I thought I
might need to rebuild my two RAID 5 filesystems but they were already
marked and excluded from the "Software RAID" section. However I got an
error message:
Configuring Software RAID partition length of 5033195520 sectors exceeds
the loop-partition-table-imposed maximum of 4294967295
