Same here on a Toshiba Satellite L-40. The last line on the screen is
"usb 6-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice "
Then it wont move anymore so I have to press Ctrl-Alt-Del to restart the system and chose another Kernel.

2.6.32-19 works fine.
