** Description changed:

I installed the latest 2.6.32-19 kernel and I noticed that this gave me
XV support for videos. However, when I try to use Totem or MPlayer with
XV video output my computer crashes with a message 'Could not write
- bytes. Broken Pipe"
+ bytes. Broken Pipe'

To recreate this issue I just open a video file (x264 video, ac3 audio
for track 1, aac audio for track 2, muxed to MKV container) with mplayer
using XV video output and it instantly crashes.
