[Bug 538810] Re: /forcefsck is ignored in Lucid

Things got worse with kernel 2.6.20 (fresh installation of beta2) on
ext3 filesystem:

after forcing fsck on next boot either with 'touch /forcefsck' or by
'tune2fs -C <counts>' system does not boot-up to gdm at next reboot.
Nothing logged, even not in /var/log/fsck/*. Ends up with black screen.
