** Description changed:

  DESCRIPTION
  I can't use 1280x1024(vga=795) in TTY.
When I try to use this, the system dumps this messages shortly after the GRUB menu:
  >Undefined video mode number: 31b
  >Press <ENTER> to see video modes ..
The best mode that I can use is 1024x768(vga=792).
Important: this problem is only TTY related and X and KDE do work in 1280x1024.

  HISTORY OF THE BUG
I have been living with this bug since my introduction to GNU and Ubuntu. It was Gutsy Gibbon if I recall correctly. I tried hard to goolge the solution that would fix my problem but no luck. After that I asked at some forums(including NVIDIA forums) but they couldn't help me. Eventually I gave up and got used to 1024x768 even though it was blurry on my LCD. After all, I use Konsole in X so I don't usually have to switch to TTY.
I decided to report this problem for the first time here(launchpad) because the things got much worse in Intrepid(even in Alpha 5). I have Hardy and Intrepid on the same computer so I can test them both.
