  I installed Ubuntu 10.04 beta1 with an usb-stick on my netbook acer
  aspire 1810T without any options and it all worked fine. But since the
  first reboot after the installation the system doesn't start anymore. At
  the start-process the system shows the following messages:

  These messages are repeated for 4 times every 30 seconds, then in 9 of
  10 cases the systems hangs or starts only the console in maintenance
  mode.

  If I set the option "acpi=off" in grub the system starts. But i get the
  message:

  The problem is now that the battery is not displayed and the energy
  saving options for battery mode are not available.

  I have the same problem in ubuntu 9.04.
