Like veZuk I think that this is not a kernel issue, as you can see on my log, HardDrive was correctly recognized "SAMSUNG HM250HI" even got mount id "sdb" but something went wrong with "Sense Key":
[ 273.669399] sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Sense Key : Illegal Request [current]

I would also like to add that under XP works fine, shame that under
Ubuntu doesn't because I prefer Ubunty than XP
