I had the same issue on Lucid. Creating an empty file, which was
reported missing in dmesg (/etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/RT2860STA.dat)
resolved the issue and my wifi works now.

Lucid Lynx Beta 2, MSI CX500 notebook with Ralink RT3090.
