I don't see anything to release note here.  Scott has said the code
appears to do the right thing in lucid; the only counterexample given is
of a disk that has had its metadata irreversibly *altered* by a previous
version of util-linux in karmic.  So we don't even really have a
confirmed bug here to be documented.
