I can only speak for the brightness buttons.
It worked like a charm in 9.04 even with the old BIOS.
In 9.10 nothing happened. After upgrading to the latest BIOS the keys functioned again. But I had some difficulties, when running with the battery. The brightness decreased itself after a while idleing, but didn't increase back after key/mouseactions. I had to adjust it manually.
