I can update a bit.
When the device is connected for the 1st time, device (*id 3* in my case) named eth1 is created and ipv4 address is assigned.
When removed, the device is gone, but the address is (probably) still allocated to *id 3*
But when I connect the thing back, it gets next id (the name is consistent) and fails to get ipv4 address, because it probably appears to be in use.
Is the interface deconfigured properly when detached?
I'll attach results for kernel installed from linux-image-2.6.34-999-generic_2.6.34-999.201004251005_i386.deb
