Just a note regarding the disk controller:

It seems LSI SAS 1068 has serious issues with the 9.10 amd64 server
release candidate kernel, I encounter offlining of the system disk on a
HP ProLiant DL140 G3 during installations with that LSI Logic
controller. Sometimes the system disk can be reactivated by replugging
it. Issuing commands via smartctl immediately offlines the disk. I will
probably open a bug report as soon as I have investigated a bit more.

There are other bug reports about impaired write performance, did not look into this yet.

After each and every reboot, and every now and then, I get:
