I have a msi vr201, and  unfortunately i have the same problem.(suspend but not wake up properly)
 after it suspend when I turn it on it behaves like it turns on but with a black screen and no respond to any other key. when i try to shut it down, it shuts down like regular way. However on second start it open with no action to any key including power key. (what I mean is that it even does not shut down and I shut it down by pressing power key for a while.) this is the case for my msiVr201 for all ubuntu distr.
